There’s this man next door that coughs every morning. It sounds like it hurts, like as if he is coughing up a lung, or even his stomach. It sounds like it comes from deep within somewhere, and it makes me wonder where in the world such a cough could come from.

This morning while I was meditating on Ephesians 3:14-19

“14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

the word deep. this word deep kept groaning within my spirit. my stomach just growled just as i wrote that…i guess it’s feeding time well, Jesus is revealing this deep sense of His love to me in ways that catch me off guard. He’s breathing love into my spirit. Even more so on the days I feel like I’m suffocating. It’s like walking into a place and for some foreign reason, I have to wrestle for air. Almost like standing in the middle of a group of smokers or being in a hotbox. As much as I want to hold my breath, at one point I break and gasp for as much air as possible, enough to hold my next breath. It’s in those moments when I’m gasping for air that He comes and breathes in me again. I don’t have to breathe on my own, I can breathe with Him.

Well don’t hold your breath, I’m getting somewhere here.
